Today is going to be rant day here at Vox. I have several topics I wish to rant about so I am going to make separate posts regarding this.
Several conversations this week have set me off, one from a friend who I play World of Warcraft with and the other a post that Street Vein left on his blog which made [This Is Good] for today.
I also have a Heroes Season Premier to recap, I got to watch it on my DVR last night and I have some things I wish to say about it.
How To Stop An Exploding Man
Before I begin my recap of this season finale, I would like to point out that I totally slacked off on recaps for the last 2 episodes. The only excuses I could possibly use was that I was sick and burned out on writing. Sometimes I just cannot write, add to this the fact that the previous 2 Heroes were not that awesome to me. Oh please do not get me wrong, I enjoyed them, but I saw them for what they were... one big ole chess match. The pieces all coming together for the final moves.
Of course Linderman's death was one of the coolest things I have seen... it is just too bad that unless there is a flash back or he heals himself, Malcolm McDowell's character is pretty much gone from the show.
Well, I am back on top of wanting to write...too bad it is the season ender though.
We started this episode with Niki and DL in Linderman's office. DL struggling to stand up and his urgings for Niki to go on without him, while Linderman's guards are pounding on the door, but with one last burst of energy and a phasing they went.
A few floors away, Matt, Noah and Suresh are having their little gun pointing session with Molly. Molly finally recognizes Matt and everyone calms down a bit more.
Meanwhile... at the hall of... oops... back in Isaac's studio Sylar is painting the future showdown of him and Peter at the Kirby Building. Now I don't read interviews or spoiler sites in regards to Heroes so does anyone know if the name of this building is an homage to Jack Kirby?
So DL tells Niki to get Micah and she leaves him to leak his fluids all over the hall floor and Claire calls Bennet and tells him that Ted is dead.
Then there is the Nathan, Peter meeting and Claire is all kinds of pissed off. In my mind she was over reacting at this point. Peter was still taking her along... why did she have to be so panic hands?
Peter runs off to find a now missing Claire when he turns around and then those powers flare and he passes out on the street which kind of was a little wimpy. I mean here is Peter, reading minds and flying and super healing and he passes out from a minor flare up of Ted's powers. It made we wonder.
Molly pinpoints Sylar, but not before we hear about another sinister villain. One that sounds very insidious from the description that Molly gave. How he can see her looking at him? Oooooh.... that sounds really cool. Hopefully the writers and the casting next season will give us something really memorable.
Bennet calls Peter to check on Claire and Angela answers the phone... that was pretty sinister. I am not saying Angela is evil, but she is still mysterious and that kind of makes her sinister.
So Peter wakes up and he is on the Deveaux rooftop and he sees himself talking to Simone on the first day of becoming Charles's nurse. When Peter steps outside he hears his mother and Charles talking about the future bomb. And that was freaking cool when Charles says "I know you are there Peter". WOW.. I had thought that Charles might have been a Super himself because of the Deveaux rooftop playing a key role time and time again
Now the next scene with Ando in the loft and Sylar throwing up against the wall was simply awesome. Hiro ports in and Sylar does the whole "Can you stop time faster than I can take his head?" or similar line. I was on the edge of my seat. For 1, I really like Ando and did not wish for him to die. 2, cause I wanted to see Hiro just do his stuff. And then... almost in a Nightcrawler fashion Hiro ports to Ando and then ports the both of them to Japan. At this point I could once again breath, Ando would be safe for now. The conversation that they have together was brilliant. Ando looks up to Hiro and sees Hiro for the Hero he truly is. That was awesome, their friendship is one of the best things about this show and I was so happy that they did not kill him.
So Niki opens the doors and there sits...Jessica, err Candice. Of course we all knew it was Candice, but it was pretty cool to see Niki's reaction to her and Micah's body. Then the slugfest begins... but the part I loved the most was when Niki got slammed into that mirror and she saw the real Jessica looking at her and telling her that the person she is fighting is not her. Niki is not super strong like Jessica, so Jessica give Niki her strength and Niki just slaps the unholy hell out of Candice and she goes FLYING...crash boom...YAY!!!! Niki got interesting. The entire Jessica, Niki, DL, Micah storyline annoyed me until these last few episodes. I hated the entire Jessica trying to kill DL story... I like this better as they are working together as a family. Reminded me of the Fantastic Four for instance.
Molly tells Suresh that Sylar is there already at the Kirby Building. Ooooh... that little girl scares the bejesus out of me.
Claire begs Nathan to help Peter and then in a moment of desperation that was AWESOME, Claire jumps out the window and hits the pavement below. lol... I love how Nathan and Angela just stared at her a moment. I love how it took about a minute before she up and ran off to help Peter.
So Niki and Micah find Suresh healing DL with Molly in tow and we finally get to see some Micah action as he restarts the elevator. I like Micah's powers... reminds me of Forge from the X-Men comics.
Charles tells Peter basically that the future can be averted and that it is due to the capacity of love that Peter has. Ok yeah whatever...I just want to know, did Peter really travel back in time? And if he did, did he grab Charles' power? Or was it all a dream? Sooo...Bennet wakes up Peter and promises to kill Peter if he needs to. Which, while all heroic sounded odd to me. "Hey I owe ya one, how about I kill ya to make us even Stephen?" lol that was not a line from the show...but that about sums it up.
So the confrontation happens... and it goes down comic book style. Sylar tosses Bennet, Sylar goes for Peter...Matt shoots at Sylar...but Sylar does his best Keanu Reeves impression and flings the bullets back at Matt.
When the parking meter came into play... I exploded in my pants. How many of us comic book geeks remember our heroes ripping out parking meters and using them as a baseball bat?
When Niki grabs it and smashes Sylar with it... my eyes rolled back into my head in pleasure.
Then Peter's hand began to glow... roh roh raggy our boy is gonna blow up real good.
Hiro ports in and...geekgasm commences as he runs Sylar through and Sylar knocks him into the air and Hiro ports away... Sylar hits the ground and his eyes show the future of himself on the ground in a pool of blood and then... they blank out.
Claire grabs the gun, but she cannot bring herself to kill Peter even though she must.
But then something I did not expect happens... Nathan flies in. We all know what he intends to do, but my wife said "Peter can fly". For a moment I was like "Yeah, why doesn't he just up and fly himself out of there?" but I realized that Peter is probably using all of his will power to hold himself together or perhaps he can only use 1 power at a time. I personally go with the "will power" theory. He does not want to so much as twitch in the event that a slight movement might set him off. I could see that being the case.
Nathan loves his brother and he grabs Peter and they fly off into the night sky... where Peter explodes.
Now it was at this point that I realized a MAJOR inconsistency. Earlier in the Season when Hiro had jumped into the future and was in Isaac's loft, the bomb blew up during the day... but Peter blew up at Night. So....uh.... What? Now they will probably explain this that the future was always being altered, slowly but surely. It still made me scratch my head though.
So Sylar lives, not unexpected. How many times has Magneto returned? How many times has Spider-man fought the same baddies? Kraven, Doc Oc, The Vulture, Lizard man? They all come back.
Volume 1 ends and Volume 2 'Generations' begins with Hiro landing outside of Kyoto in the 17th century. Japanese warriors approach and my first thought was that next season Hiro will be stuck there and eventually become the Hero of legend... well that was until the Blue Warrior approached and you could see George Takai's eyes through the visor and his banner had the the Godsend symbol on it. Soooo... that must be Takezo Kensei. lol Whoohooo
Now the shadow overhead... I was a bit ignorant, I did not assume it was an eclipse. I had hoped it was a UFO or something. lol... that would have been very comic bookish.
What a great way to end the season. I really enjoyed it even with the inconsistencies I found. I was satisfied with the ending and I cannot wait to see who the new villain is.
I'm at full HP and MP, and have all my elixirs. It's time to take down the last boss. - Hiro Nakamura on his blog
Ok, I just finished watching the season ender on Heroes and I have to say I am MOST impressed. I am however too tired to recap the entire thing tonight.
So I am going to hit bed and then talk about it tomorrow.
But... I am really happy with the way it turned out.
SPOILERS DONT EVEN READ THE CAPTION ON THE IMAGE BELOW
So some of our Merry Band of Mutants find themselves in a future where fellow mutants are rounded up and there are giant frikkin Sentinels patrolling and.... oops... I think I just confused the Heroes storyline with the X-Men's Days of Future Past storyline.
There is obviously no denying that the writers are old X-Men fans is a big ole connections there for sure. I do not think that is a bad thing either, It is one of my favorite stories in the entire mutant saga.

So uh...back to Heroes
So through the conversations that Hiro has with himself, it is determined that the future can indeed be saved since the Cheerleader was saved by Peter. The web in Isaac's old loft is shown to be a massive map of events leading up to the destruction and that saving the Cheerleader is key to it all. Without Clair's powers, Sylar could be killed by Hiro... ooooooh. Suddenly Matt bursts in the door and future Hiro and Ando escape while Homeland security grabs our current Hiro. Matt is obviously a bit on edge and really mean.
Future Hiro and Ando teleport to Las Vegas to look for Peter and they run into Jessica/Nikki doing what Chris Rock told all fathers to do... "Keep your baby off the pole"... well, some dad screwed up. Jessica is a bit mad at seeing Hiro and when he mentions Sylar's name she gets really pissed off. When she tells them off and hits the bar, Peter materializes with a nasty scar across his face. I thought it was cool looking, I doubt in the current timeline that they will give him that scar though. This is all about changing the past right?
We then get to see the beating that Matt is giving Hiro while yelling at him about the loss of really good men at the National Science Center. This scene was hard for me to watch, I mean come on... this is Hiro. While I used to like the character of Matt, I don't think I will ever be able to look at him the same way again. He is mean, vicious and no Professor X is he. At least the X-Men's Xavier rarely ever shoved himself into other people's minds, but since this is more true to life than an X-Men comic, I guess it would make sense. I mean, I have posted before about my thoughts on what if I had powers. How many of us could restrain ourselves? I personally would not be able to. I would be reading everyone's thoughts. Matt is doing what any of us would do, but I still cannot stomach his character anymore for the Hiro beating.
Matt calls Nathan and Nathan is now Mr President. Nathan calls Suresh into his office and we discover that Suresh has been working on a procedure to reverse the DNA changes but in his own mind this will never happen. So Nathan has decided to exterminate all of the people with abilities before another Sylar arrives.
Now back in Primatech, which confuses me a moment I will explain in a few, Bennet is testing a boy for powers and when he comes up positive Bennet gives him and his parents new identities and tells the father to protect the boy at all costs. From the way he said it I thought Claire was dead, that was my initial reaction. But why was Bennet running this underground railroad from Primatech? With the players involved in the Primatech location from earlier in the season, Matt, Nathan and Sylar for sure know about it, which comes into play later, Bennet should have been more careful. Ok, well I understand Matt as well. We come to the conclusion that Matt's wife and child are alive and in hiding based on his conversation with Bennet, which tells me 2 things.
1) The child was Matt's and not his partners.
2) The child has powers as well.
Also from the conversation with Bennet we find out that DL is alive and in hiding as well.... well.. not so much alive anymore I should say.
Ok, I am jumping around now unintentionally.
Back in Isaac's loft Suresh begins to understand what Hiro is doing, but Matt does not believe that Hiro can jump through time. This scene did not really make me think of anything besides "I don't like you Matt, you punched Hiro".
We do fine Claire alive though, working as a waitress and about to get married. Bennet arrives and warns her that people have been asking about her. Hiro in particular when he arrived to talk to Bennet.
Future Hiro and Ando spend some time together and when Ando asks about himself Hiro tells him he cannot tell him. I knew what I have always known at this point that Ando was dead. In comics, the family and friends always become the victims of something or another. I knew this was a fact with Ando and it makes sense the dark brooding type Future Hiro has become. Asshat Matt kicks in the door and tasers Hiro, suddenly realizing that Hiro can travel through time, but before he can do anything else Peter comes in all Matrixy and stops time and rescues Hiro and Ando.
Ok, now back to Matt and Bennet's conversation. This is where we discover things about Matt's son. For a moment, I thought Matt would be redeemed in my eyes. A kind of "Only a badass" on the outside thing, but then he rips out Claire's lcoation from Bennet's mind and then executes him with an "I'm ending our arrangement" line. Matt, I really don't like you anymore. The writer's better do a good job with you or I am going to be doing that "giving you the finger" thing from my living room every time I see you on.
So obviously we go back to Claire who convinces her other half to run off and elope... but the scene ended with Matt at the counter saying "Hey Claire". I could see it coming from a million miles away when she was begging to elope. I looked at the wife and said something like "Matt is in there and he is playing customer". Point 1 for MainMor.
Peter and Ando talk while future Hiro is still out cold. Peter finally tells Ando what became of Hiro. That his carefree nature died when Ando died in the explosion. That Hiro has been doing everything he can to save the Ando in the past. Hiro is the best of them all, I don't want Ando to die and steal that goodness and happiness from Hiro.
Matt hauls Claire in to see Nathan, but as Nathan talks to Claire... it suddenly dawned on me that Nathan was not Nathan. I jumped up going....Ooooooh SYLAR... my wife was giggling at me at this point as I was basically standing on the chair and pointing at the tv in a ZOMG!!! kind of a way. As he talked, the painting that Sylar did of Nathan in the Whitehouse flashed in my head. All the pieces clicked together and then when Nathan told Claire he had been waiting for this meeting for a long time... then he changes. I was shocked and my heart was racing. A TV series has never dragged me in THAT emotionally. Ok not true the only other time I got this pissed off is when they killed Tamahome's family in Fushigi Yugi (I almost killed a TV over that one, I was enraged). Then there was near the end of Season 6 Buffy the Vampire Slayer...when Willow got all evil and the door comes crashing down and Giles is there to stop her... I jumped up going "ZOMG Giles!!!!". Then there was the.... oops getting off track so sorry. So Sylar finally kills Claire... Roh Roh Raggy.
Jessica and Peter yell back and forth and we find out Sylar was never involved in the explosion, that it really was Peter. That the loss of DL, Micah and Jessica are gone...all that is left is Nikki. She needs to move on.
Suresh begins to prepare to kill past Hiro while Nathan announces a cure to the world... a cure that will actually prove fatal.
Thus we come to the greatest setup of the episode and also the greatest disappointment.
Lobby of the building that past Hiro is being kept in...suddenly Future Hiro, Peter and Ando arrive in front of the gaurds. Alarms are tripped and all these Homeland Security forces arrive pointing their guns at them. "Should I stop time?"
"Nah, been a long time since I had a good fight" (Or something like that)
Then...Cut...
Hiro cuts a couple of guys down...
One guys flies out a door then Peter steps through.
O...M...G...
Heroes Producers, I now officially hate you for something. You set us up for what could be the coolest scene EVER in the series. Something to make me crap my pants... and we don't get to see it?
WARNING... BAD LANGUAGE BOMB INCOMING...
FUCK YOU... OMG... FUCK YOU
BAD LANGUAGE ALERT STANDING DOWN.
Suresh takes out the Haitian, Ando and past Hiro reunited and Future Hiro is blown away by Matt. Peter slams the door shut and then ... Nathan reaches through the door and pulls Peter out.
This was an interesting revelation about the Primatech Underground Operation Bennet was running. This told me that Nathan/Sylar knew about it. Allowed it to run. Think about it, Hiro needed DL. DL was hidden away by Bennet... Sylar used DL's power to pull Peter through the door. Eh? Did I get the logic on that one down right?
A friend argued with me that Peter told Nikki that DL was dead from the explosion, but Peter does not know this for sure. He accidenly killed many people. DL probably used the situation to his advantage to take him and his son and hide away from Jessica for good.
Too bad Sylar knew though.
The face off of Sylar and Peter in the hallway... the 2nd disappointment as well. We see them power up, Sylar with Ice perhaps? (We do know one of his victims was covered in ice)... Peter in fire? Then ...Cut back to the room. ARGH...
BAD LANGUAGE
Stop it you cock teases
END BAD LANGUAGE
Ando and Hiro return home...
I loved and hated this episode. It was great to see what has become of everyone. Some turned good and some turned bad and some just dark hero'ish. Kind of an "Age of Apoloclypse" for the Heroes series.
But they took the best action parts of the series and watered them down. There was no over the top release of this tension. It built up and then cut away...and then built up... and then cut away.
I love Heroes for the characters and their development, but when the conflict arises, don't treat us like this. Show the action, show the fight.
So Heroes returned last night. Stop now if you don't want to read spoilers. There are some pretty big ones in this episode.
So Lindeman... eh? eh? eh?
He knows things, things that well, kind of shocked me.
While watching this series I had assumed that the events taking place was a kind of "Dawn of the Heroes" thing. The first time I knew that to be false was when we were introduced to Christopher Eccleston's character Claude. Now we are shown that Heroes have united in the past and some obviously grew disillusioned with everything, as in the case of Claude. Or they went Kookoo for Cocoa Puffs as it appears what happened with Lindeman. I seriously did not think he would have powers, well because in Comic Books it always seems as if some puppet master was in the background pulling strings and he, generally speaking of course, did not have super powers (I am mostly thinking of Superman's Lex Luthor when I say this, but then again did the Kingpin ever have powers or was he just really fat and strong?). Lindeman's powers are actually amazing really and interesting as well, the ability to heal or perhaps it is just to grow plants. In any case Lindeman is a villain and here has has a power that one would associate with "goodness". Just something I noticed.
Another Peter and Sylar showdown was pretty frikkin cool until Peter caught himself a case of the Deaths. I really thought they killed Peter off. In my mind the future had been changed and I seriously did not expect Claire and Nathan to finally have a face to face. When Claire yanks the glass shard out of the back of Peter's head and he revives that was kind of cool, but I should have noticed that. I missed the fact that Claire herself did not regenerate after her death until the coroner began working on her.
Then what about Matt and Ted's escape from Primatech Paper? Wow that was pretty thrilling and when Bennet was telling them how Ted can EMP pulse. Wicked... I loved it, he just grew really bright and then WOOOMF... power went out.
Finally we have a conclusion to Isaac's story. From earlier in Season 1, when Hiro first jumped into the future and saw his body in the studio. We finally see how he exits the storyline... but Sylar, he cannot paint for crap. Interesting uses or color and style. It almost shows us how out of his gourd he really is.
Micah ends up in Lindeman's hands, Bennet, Matt and Ted are headed to New York and we find out Lindeman signs the paychecks, Claire and Nathan, Claire and Peter, Nathan, Peter and their Mom. Sooo much resolved, opening up new story lines to explore later. I am still in kind of shock over it too. I mean I have been watching Lost since Season 1 and while I love the show there is resolution in small pocket doses. I am so used to not knowing anything or getting any kind of answers. So now here are some being air dropped into my lap and I am not sure how to handle it.
And next week's episode all takes place in the future? Whoohooo
Tell me Hiro and future Hiro meeting was not cool there at the end. lol...
So where the snot have I been?
I was on vacation all of last week and while I was at home I was actually in no mood to do any writing. I played games, watched TV and bought new appliances.
Not terribly exciting, but then again doing nothing was everything I wanted it to be and more.
I have a million things I want to talk about now. The new episodes of Lost, Smallville, 24, Heroes... there is some seriously good TV going on.
Lost
The Desmon episode last Wednesday marked a return to the feel and mystery that the very first season gave to us. This was the best episode I have seen in a long time. The revelation at the end regarding Charlie caused my jaw drop, even if we have seen this in a movie plotline before. *cough*Final Destination*cough*, it still is pretty compelling.
24
What a really good season for the TV series my wife cannot stand. lol... she says it is a TV series about and inducing panic attacks the world over. lol.. ok I see truth in that. But hey, I enjoy it.
Heroes
Poor Ando. Stan "The Man" Lee, a great flying scene, Claire confronting Bennet, New Internet Girl (What the heck? I don't trust her at all).
Smallville
Lana Lang... it is about blasted time. I really don't like Lana and she is figuring things out finally. Things that should never have taken this long. I have a feeling by season's end she will know Clark's secret and she will be dead. No confirmations and no rumor reading, It is more of a personal hope of mine. I know terrible right?
Battlestar Galactica
Adama episode this week, it was great. I love the father, son storylines they do and to see Adama dealing with personal demons and to get inside that character's head. Amazing story.
Now coming soon, Jericho, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis... and in theaters in a few short weeks 300. Who isn't excited about 300?
Mid Season Finale of Heroes, Dr Who episode "The Satan Pit", The latest and greatest Battlestar... Much has gone on since I really have had time to post.
I have been sick and my kids have been sick and I have been home from work the last 2 days. I really need to get my constitution improved. I swear, life is a giant table top roleplaying game and someone rolled a 5 when I was being generated.
And yes...that was a horribly geeky thing to say... but what did I say on the gaming post?
I wanted to play some World of Warcraft tonight, but they are having massive problems with their latest patch and it will probably be another 15 hours to get fixed. The good thing, the Beta server is still working so I was able to do some testing. Money is way easy to get in Burning Crusade. I did one Ramparts run and nailed down about 4 quests and made over 100 gold. lol...
Ok, I am going for now, I have a book I am going to read the wife for a while.
So Claire is gonna be Homecoming Queen. I really like her final transition in this episode to "Really Good Person". She realizes whom her friends really are and her old friends... well... they were never much of friends to begin with.
Back with Nathan and Simone... the painting that Peter really really wants to see is now in the hands of his brother and to "save" his brother he destroys the painting. Argh, Nathan is bugging me, I know so many people say he is going to be a villain but I highly disagree. I think Nathan is going to go through a process of a kind of redemption. He will always be a bad boy, so to speak, but I think he is going to come around a bit and actually show a heroic side.
Now Niki on the other hand... she is practicing with a nice sniper rifle. For a moment I really thought she was going to off the guy that sold her the gun. We just don't know enough about this other side of her yet. Is she a cold blooded killer or does she only kill people that cross her?
Now Micah, that kid is a little ball of ninja energy. The moment DL turns his head and poof Micah is gone. Micah loves his mother and thinks she can be helped and I think he about has DL convinced that he should go back and help his mother.
So Peter arrives to Simone and through their conversation Peter reveals he is not really sure if anything is going to happen to the Cheerleader, but he has to find out. Simone shows him a digital image of the painting that his brother destroyed and joy... it shows a dead Peter, but come on... where was the suspense in this? I mean, we know about Claire's power and we know about Peter's power and 1+1 does not equal 4.528 like the computer says. (Trust the Computer. The Computer is your friend!)
Ok, let me put it another way. If you could not foresee Peter using Claire's healing abilities, then ... then... Ok I don't really want to insult any of you in the event that you missed it.... but COME ON... that was the most obvious. I could see that coming from the moon.
The next scene with Bennett and Eden. I was kind of shocked that Bennett would send Eden to take Sylar out. What powers does she have that she could easily take out this psycho?
So Zach tells Claire about the campaigning he did for her and he gives her a copy of Suresh's book. Anyone else notice the symbol on the cover? I love playing Where's Waldo with that symbol. Jackie comes up and begins making fun of Zach again, but then Claire does something that made me so proud of her character. She stood up for her real friends and punched Jackie right out. It was right up there with the Vegas goons knocking Hiro in the face... ok of course that was far funnier, but this was up there.
Micah tells DL all about Jessica and that Niki can't control her and that she needs their help. DL agrees finally.
So Sanjob lyer, the kid that can be a kind of spirit guide, Mohinder finds him and the kid tells him that he does not enter their dreams, people come to him in his dreams and it is because they have questions. Mohinder tells the kid that he has 2 paths and wants to know which one is his destiny. This little oracle tells him that he already knows which path to take. The kid kind of freaks me out a little, I am not sure why.
More explanation is given about Hiro vanishing, Ando finally sees the photo taken many months ago that has Hiro and Charlie in it together. Yet, Hiro left her weeks ago Ando is told. This shocked me, so close to saving her that he left her. Did his future self come and warn him to leave? That would be an interesting conversation.
So Bennett in an attempt to save Claire, decides to basically ground her to the house. Ok, Yawn... this is soooo 1980s. My instant thought was that Zach was going to rescue her via ladder outside her window. So what really happened? Zach rescued her via ladder outside her window. ARGH! Ok, maybe I have abilities. Maybe I need to go to Texas and save the cheerleader, save the world. Or this fly by the seats writing is failing miserably.
Peter and Ando meet up and Ando tells him about Hiro missing. Poor Hiro, the guy keeps trying but he keeps messing up hero priorities. He should have waited and finished the first mission and then looked to perhaps saving Charlie. I don't blame him though, he grew up in this fantasy world of manga and thinks he has the information to do it all right.
Peter runs into Claire, but asks for Jackie. Ok the payoff of the train save turned around nicely, I like how Peter doesn't know who exactly he is saving and he looks for the wrong person. I give the writers a point on that one.
Sylar, who looks very wierd.. Almost as if he is there and not there at the same time chokes Jackie to death and tosses Claire aside so easily. Claire should have played dead and Sylar would probably have left her alone, but no, she straightens out the broken bones and stands up for the serial killer to watch her regenerate and then Claire runs and finds Peter again. Peter tells her to run and suddenly Sylar begins tossing locker doors at Peter like Darth Vader. lol... that was pretty cool.
Peter and Sylar go over the side of the wall and plummet down to the concrete and oops...looks like Peter is now Shmucker's Rasberry Preserves.... Shmuckers, it tastes like the real thing.
But oh noes... Peter is not dead and he regenerates.... DUH
Sylar has escaped and runs into Eden. Sylar is about to use his powers on Eden, but through a power of suggestion it seems, she keeps in place and the Cleaner runs up and knocks him out.
The Police arrive and Peter is arrested. Roh Roh Raggy... is this how Peter is going to meet Matt? I mean come on, serial killer is gone... the person who can vouch for you is gone. What do you expect is going to happen?
Mohinder tells mom that he is going back to New York, Jessica appears to shoot DL... but come on... either Niki stops her or DL phases. Which is it going to be?
We then see Hiro arrive to meet Charlie in the past.
Next week... we are promised some answers. Interesting.
According to Michael Ausiello and Wikipedia.com, Christopher Eccleston... our former 9th Doctor of Dr Who.... is coming to Heroes in 2007.
How frikkin cool is that?
I was a little ticked off when he left Dr Who, I really like his acting. Now, I get to see him on another one of my shows. Wicked Cool
I saw this over at Sci-Fi Fodder
The main article is at Entertainment Weekly
It appears that the writers have no idea where the story is going to go.
"Kring says he has a general idea of where he's going — the latter half of the season will focus on Nathan's election, the pursuit of Sylar, and Hiro's efforts to avert the destruction of New York — but he and his writing staff relish the seat-of-the-pants ride. ''The idea is to have so many twists and turns and cliff-hangers that it generates more story,'' says Kring, who believes the series' simple conceit — that the world is popping with mutants — makes for an endless supply of freaky fun."
That just screams bad idea to me.
Fred at Sci-Fi Fodder said it best
"Several of my favorite show creators plot out several years of the plot framework in advance. Joss Whedon ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Angel') and JJ Abrams ('Alias', 'Lost') were said to have much of the first three seasons of their shows planned out in advance. JM Strazynski ('Babylon 5', 'Rising Stars') planned the whole five year run of 'Babylon 5' prior to the show's debut. Compared to these creators, Kring's effort is a little disheartening."
I am a little worried now, here in my mind there is this great plan, this direction where we are being led and it seems they have no idea what they are doing until they are about to do it.
But then again, I guess that makes it more like a comic book. The Uncanny X-Men and several titles here and there have felt like there has been no planning for over a decade now. So I guess it helps in making it more authentic.
I like this series, I just hope the writers can keep up the work and not kill it off with a cross over that requires us to watch a show we don't want to watch... for instance...
"To be continued in Fear Factor, episode #510" or "Stay tuned to see if Hiro lives or dies on...Law & Order #908"
