A New Week

You might want to see about getting different trainers (sneakers?). You can get ones that work better for people who roll out on the sides of their feet, or roll in, or that are neutral: http://www.runnersworld.ltd.uk/pronation.htm

I think that maybe you're going too far with your chosen form of exercise at present and that you might wish to make up your time by combining it with something else like exercise bike training which may be easier on the ankles.
As much as I would love to have a bike...it is currently out of my price range. Right now, what I am mostly doing is walking and you are correct in that I roll out on the sides of my feet. Thank you for that link.

I am going to stick to walking and running as it is super cheap, mostly free... and Once I can afford them I will be getting better shoes.

I promise I am not over doing it. I even stopped on Sunday when the pain got too much.

There are a few places in town I am told where they will put me up on a treadmill and check out how I step and roll and size me correctly for some shoes, so I am going to plan on doing that.

I also might add, I bought a cheap bike a couple of years ago... and I was basically too heavy for the bike. I obviously did not shop for one correctly and then I accidentally drove over it while backing into my driveway. And no, I did not leave it lying in the driveway. lol...long story short, I clipped it and knocked it over, dragged it and then promptly drove over it and never saw it as I then crumpled the seat and one of the wheels...

Ahhh fun....
I can see the weight issue might be a problem, but you might want to look into the value of second hand (stationary) exercise bikes in your area. When I thought about selling mine on Ebay a few years ago (before I got into using it) I was going to be lucky to get 99p for it. People buy them with the best of intentions but never get around to using them... That's who you want to buy them off :)

Check out fleet feet for shoes. You probably need to stay away from the super cushy shoes because they are not giving you support. Sore ankles are an indication of over pronation.

You should also stop by the martial arts school and hang out with me, ken, and phil. Bring the clan. we can hook you up with a few weeks of lessons for nothing and probably cut you a deal for the whole fam after that.
